Sloths depend on their habitat and where they live in order for them to live. Sloths live mostly in tropical rainforest and these forests are suffering from deforestation. Sloths not having the trees from these rainforests are causing many to lose their life. Without all the trees that sloths depend on, they will lose homes and where they eat, causing sloths to travel more and being exposed by ground predators.
Many sloths are losing their lives to human hunters/poachers. Humans are traveling to Isla Escudo de Veruas to hunt the Pygmy Three-Toed Sloths. This isn't the only sloth being hunted. Most of these sloths are being hunted for the hunter to make money illegally, or they skin the sloth and uses its fur.

The graph shown above is showing us what the estimated population will be if the current trends are still going on. It's 2018 already and the graph keeps going down!
